Gross ROMI % = (Attributed revenue − Marketing cost) ÷ Marketing cost × 100
Net ROMI % = (Attributed margin − Marketing cost) ÷ Marketing cost × 100
Worked example: Campaign spend 20,000. Attributed revenue 80,000. Gross margin 40%. Gross ROMI = (80,000 − 20,000)/20,000 × 100 = 300%. Net ROMI = (80,000 × 0.40 − 20,000)/20,000 × 100 = 60%. Net ROMI is the more conservative and useful measure since it reflects true incremental profit.
