How subscription costs are calculated

Monthly equivalent = Σ(monthly subscriptions) + Σ(yearly subscriptions ÷ 12). Yearly subscriptions are divided by 12 to compute their monthly cost, then all values are summed.

Annual total = Monthly equivalent × 12. This is the total you pay across all subscriptions in a calendar year.

Worked example: Netflix £10.99/mo + Spotify £9.99/mo + Adobe CC £54.99/yr. Monthly equiv = £10.99 + £9.99 + (£54.99 ÷ 12) = £25.57. Annual = £25.57 × 12 = £306.83. Cancelling Adobe CC and Netflix saves £54.99 + £131.88 = £186.87/yr.
