Accuracy and transparency

Why United Calculator

Every page follows the same content standard: formula derivation, a worked example with real numbers, applicable laws or professional guidance, 6 plain-language FAQs, and links to 8 related tools.

Verified formulas

Each formula engine is based on published standards — TILA for loan calculations, METS tables for energy expenditure, ASTM standards for materials, and equivalents across 16 subject areas. The formula is shown in a code block on every result card so you can verify the calculation independently.

Professional context, not professional advice

Finance and health calculators cover applicable legislation (CFPB, NHS, OSHA) and reference professional thresholds (e.g. debt-to-income ratios accepted by lenders, WHO BMI categories). Every page includes a disclaimer — these tools are planning aids. Consequential decisions should be reviewed with a qualified professional.

No account, no tracking, no fee

Calculations run entirely in your browser. No data leaves your device. There are no login walls, no usage limits, no subscription tiers, and no premium paywalls. The only data stored is nothing — no cookies are set beyond what your browser requires to render the page.

Transparent methodology

Smart defaults come from published benchmarks — median UK household income from ONS, US average mortgage rate from Freddie Mac weekly surveys, average commute distances from the US Census ACS. Defaults are documented in the article body on each calculator page.

Simple by design

How United Calculator works

Three steps from question to answer — no account, no subscription, no ads cluttering the result.

Search or browse

Type a topic into the search box or click a category. Each category is a mini-library of 125 calculator pages targeting specific questions — loan payments, BMI, tile counts, carbon footprint, and more.

Enter your values

Smart defaults are pre-filled so you get an immediate example result. Replace any field with your own data. Click the ? icon on any field for a plain-language explanation of what that input means.

Read, copy, and share

The result updates in real time. The formula is shown in a code block below the answer. Copy the result to your clipboard, share it to 8 social platforms, or scroll down for the full explanation, FAQs, and 8 related calculators.

Meal Planning Calculator

Meal Planning Calculator: calculate meal planning for cooking and nutrition. Practical tips and worked examples.

A nutrition facts calculator estimates the calorie and macronutrient content (protein, carbohydrates, and fat) of a food portion based on standard nutritional databases. Nutrition facts are essential for tracking dietary intake, managing calorie targets, meeting macro goals for athletic performance, monitoring specific nutrients for health conditions, and understanding food labels. The calculator converts grams of each macronutrient to kilocalories using established energy conversion factors. and provide complementary tools for total energy expenditure and macro planning.

Nutritional values in databases are averages across food samples and may differ from any specific product due to variety, ripeness, cooking method, and preparation. Cooked foods generally have higher nutrient density per gram than raw equivalents because water evaporates during cooking — 100g of raw chicken becomes approximately 75–80g cooked, so the cooked portion is more calorie-dense per gram.

  1. Select or enter a food item from the database, or enter custom macros directly.
  2. Enter the portion weight in grams — weigh portions using kitchen scales for accuracy.
  3. The calculator computes: protein (g × 4 kcal), carbohydrates (g × 4 kcal), fat (g × 9 kcal), and total kilocalories.
  4. Compare against your daily targets — the calculator shows percentage of a 2,000 kcal reference intake for each nutrient.
  5. For multi-ingredient meals, calculate each component separately and sum the totals.
  6. Check whether values are for raw or cooked weight — nutrient databases typically list values per 100g raw unless specified.

Nutrition calculation formulas

Protein calories = Protein (g) × 4 kcal/g

Carbohydrate calories = Carbs (g) × 4 kcal/g

Fat calories = Fat (g) × 9 kcal/g

Alcohol calories = Alcohol (g) × 7 kcal/g

Total calories = Protein kcal + Carb kcal + Fat kcal (+ Alcohol kcal)

Worked example: 150g cooked chicken breast. Protein 46g (184 kcal), Carbs 0g, Fat 4g (36 kcal). Total = 220 kcal. Per 100g = approximately 147 kcal.

Daily reference values

US FDA daily values (2,000 kcal diet): Total fat 78g; Saturated fat 20g; Cholesterol 300mg; Sodium 2,300mg; Total carbohydrates 275g; Dietary fiber 28g; Total sugars 50g; Protein 50g. These are population averages — individual requirements vary significantly by body weight, activity level, age, and health status. Athletes may require 3,000–5,000 kcal/day; sedentary individuals may maintain weight at 1,600–1,800 kcal/day. Consult a registered dietitian for personalized nutrition targets.
