Frame Win Calculator

Frame Win Calculator — calculate frame win for training and performance. Evidence-based formula and benchmarks.

Darts statistics calculators track and analyse performance metrics that separate recreational players from competitive ones. Three-dart average — the total score divided by the number of darts thrown, expressed per three darts — is the primary measure of a player's level: a 3-dart average of 60 is club standard, 80 is strong amateur, 100 is county/regional level, and 110+ is professional. Checkout percentage measures the proportion of visits to the double required to finish a leg that result in a successful checkout, quantifying composure under pressure. Per-dart average, 180 rate, and bust rate complete the statistical picture of a player's ability to score big, maintain consistency, and close out legs efficiently.

Snooker calculators extend into the cue sports domain: potting percentage, safety play effectiveness, century break probability, and maximum break calculators help coaches and players diagnose weaknesses. Frame win probability models use scoring rate and visit efficiency to predict match outcomes.

  1. For darts average: enter total score accumulated and total darts thrown; the calculator returns 3-dart average and per-dart average.
  2. For checkout %: enter the number of double attempts and successful checkouts; result is your checkout conversion rate.
  3. For 180 rate: enter total legs or visits and number of 180s hit; the calculator gives 180s per leg and 180 rate per dart.
  4. For bust rate: enter total scoring visits and number of busts (going over or landing on 1); a high bust rate indicates aggressive finishing strategy with poor execution.
  5. For snooker century break calculator: enter break-building average and potting percentage to estimate probability of completing a century.

Darts and cue sports formulas

3-Dart Average = Total Score ÷ (Total Darts ÷ 3)

Per-Dart Average = Total Score ÷ Total Darts

Checkout % = Successful Checkouts ÷ Checkout Attempts × 100

180 Rate = 180s Hit ÷ Total Legs × 100 (or per visit: 180s ÷ Total Visits)

Bust Rate = Busts ÷ (Busts + Successful Visits) × 100

Snooker frame win probability uses an ELO-style expected score: P(win) = 1 ÷ (1 + 10^((opponent_break_avg − player_break_avg) ÷ 50)).

Example: 1,200 total score from 60 darts → 3-dart average = 1200 ÷ (60 ÷ 3) = 1200 ÷ 20 = 60.0. Per-dart = 1200 ÷ 60 = 20.0.

Interpreting your darts statistics

Player level benchmarks

3-Dart average benchmarks: below 45 = beginner; 45–60 = recreational; 60–75 = regular pub/club player; 75–90 = strong club, local league standard; 90–100 = county level; 100–110 = PDC Development Tour / BDO regional; 110–115 = PDC Challenge Tour; 115+ = PDC Pro Tour / televised professional. Top professionals (Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen) averaged 100–110 over entire careers. Checkout %: below 30% is average club level; 35–40% is competitive amateur; 40%+ is professional. Elite professionals maintain 40–45% checkout rates. MvG's peak checkout percentage was 42.7% across a full season.
